The Misericordia cheerleading program holds an evaluation in the spring and tryouts in the second and third week of the fall semester. During spring evaluations, incoming freshmen and transfer students who have been accepted to Misericordia and intend to cheer at the college level will be asked to demonstrate their cheerleading skills. Those cheerleaders who receive high scores will be given an invitation to participate in UCA summer camp and other summer activities related to the cheerleading program.
In the first or second week of the fall semester, official tryouts will be held. Please find a brief outline of tryout requirements below:
Required material that will be evaluated during tryouts:
1. Cheers
2. Sidelines
3. Dance segment
4. Jumps
7. Stunting ability
8. Standing tumbling *not required, but recommended
9. Tumbling pass *not required, but recommended
10. Interview
2011 SPRING EVALUATION INFORMATION

Incoming freshmen, transfer students and current students interested in joining the cheerleading program for the 2011-2012 season should plan to attend spring evaluations. Spring evaluations will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 9:30 until 2. (They were previously scheduled for the 16th, but due to scheduling conflict the evaluations have been moved to the 30th) Registration will begin at 9:30am and the evaluation session will begin shortly after. Those attending evaluations will participate in a practice session with the current team members. Cheerleaders will be evaluated throughout the day and those with the top scores will be given an invitation to attend UCA summer camp with the team. All cheerleaders must register for evaluations. Those who are interested in participating in the UCA summer camp and summer activities, but cannot attend the April 30th evaluation should submit a video to Coach Sinclair. Please click here for video requirements.
Finally, cheerleaders attending the event should be prepared to workout in a three hour session with the college team. All items and forms listed below must be presented on the day of evaluations at the registration table.
Cheerleaders must present the following at registration:
- A completed physical form from their physician clearing them for participation. Freshmen may submit a copy of the required form provided by the university for incoming freshmen. All other may click here for the athletic departments physical form.
- Proof of acceptance into the college (a copy of your acceptance letter)
Official tryouts will be held during the second week of the fall semester. All returning members and new students interested in joining the program will be evaluated for team placement at that time.
